To all my wonderful clients…..

I've been putting off writing this post for the past few weeks, but I think the time has come for me to sit down and send this out.  :-)  My family and I are a few weeks away from relocating to Greenville, SC.  I can't tell you how much fun I've had painting furniture here in Atlanta, and this little blog has brought me so much joy.  My favorite thing about the whole painting process has been getting to know my awesome clients.  I can't thank you enough for your support, for coming back again and again for more painted furniture, and for not laughing when you pulled in to pick up your piece and realized I work out of my garage.  :-)   I have loved getting to know every single one of you.  Thank you to those of you who have spent time chatting with me in my workshop, to those of you who've had my husband and me deliver pieces to your home, to those of you who trusted me to paint furniture for your little one's nursery…. and to those of you who haven't bought a thing but have faithfully read my updates.  :-)   I feel so blessed to have had this little side business here in Atlanta.

I will be taking some time off from painting…. taking time to get my family moved, get my kiddos adjusted, and focus on my husband and children for a while.  I plan to get back to painting as soon as I can, and I look forward to revamping this site and meeting new clients in Greenville.

But for now - please know how much I've loved working with you all.  Thanks for an amazing 2 years!

Love,

Beth

Antique Chest in Graphite (SOLD)

Antique bowfront chest, meet Graphite.

I think you two were a match made in heaven.  :)

This classic antique oak chest was the perfect candidate for Graphite paint.  It was a lovely light wood color that shows through the graphite so beautifully.  And with AMAZING original pulls that pop in copper.... well, it makes me happy.

(Side note here....  the lighting was not awesome as i photographed this piece, which explains the slight fuzziness to the pictures.  Sorry about that.  Impending winter storm made for a dreary day today, but sometimes a girl is just so excited to list a piece that she can't wait for sunny skies.)   ;-)

Just look at those legs....  :-)

.... and that gorgeous bowfront.

Graphite paint is my new obsession, if you haven't already noticed.  :-)  It's a lovely dark charcoal grey on its own, but when you add dark wax.... it becomes a rich soft black with so much depth.  Add copper pulls and you've got a real looker.

This antique chest has been painted in Graphite, distressed, and coated with dark wax.  All of the drawers are dovetailed and work beautifully.  And the back on this guy is solid wood and lovely as well.  It's a true antique and a real show stealer.  It measures 45'' long x 34'' tall x 22'' deep (at the deepest part of the bow) and is priced at $395 (SOLD).  Awesome as a dresser, of course.... but also the perfect size to hold a flatscreen tv.  Or to double as a sophisticated changing table in a little guy's nursery. Or to sit in your foyer and wow your guests as soon as they walk in the front door.  Anywhere you decide to put it, I bet it'll make you smile when you walk by.

Coming soon!

Hi folks!  I bet some of you have been wondering where I've been.....  so I thought I'd pop on and give a quick update.  I'm here, I'm painting, and I'm getting ready to post a new piece!  I've spent the last few months working on a ton of custom pieces, and between the custom work and the holiday madness there wasn't time to work on any of the sweet pieces patiently waiting in my workshop.  :-)   Now that things have calmed down a bit, I'm happy to report that one of those sweet pieces will be posted and available soon!  This is the one I'm about to finish....

Isn't it beautiful?!  I love the carved detailing on this one.

And the ball and claw feet....  GORGEOUS!

Be on the lookout for this one soon in Old White....  it's going to be amazing!

Grey side tables (SOLD)

Love this vintage set of wood side tables!  They have great classic lines, and so much storage space.  There's nothing like a table with good storage.  :-)

These would be so great in a bedroom as nightstands, or in a family room as end tables.

All three drawers work perfectly - both side tables have a smaller top drawer and two deep drawers beneath.

I love the oil-rubbed bronze pulls - also love the curves along the bottom.

I've painted these side tables in a lovely soft grey, with a distressed finish and clear wax for protection.  They measure 27 1/2'' tall x 20 1/2'' wide x 14 1/2'' deep and are priced at $200 for the set (SOLD).

If you're interested in purchasing these side tables, please send me an email at shabbychic011@gmail.com  - thank you!

This is another piece that I'm really excited about.  Mahogany, vintage, curved..... gorgeous.

Isn't the detailing AWESOME?

Add caption

This piece is made of mahogany, and is all hardwood - even the insides of the drawers and the back of the piece.  It is INCREDIBLY sturdy and in great shape.  I just love the curved front on this one.

I also love the lines along the bottom.  And the vintage hardware is pretty special too.  :-)

I've painted this piece in a deep cream color, and given it a distressed finish and clear wax for protection.  All six drawers are dovetailed, work perfectly, and provide a ton of storage. Measurements are 35'' long x 55'' tall x 19'' deep and it's priced at $460 (SOLD).

Antique Dresser in Old White (SOLD)

Hi folks!  I've got a great antique dresser ready to find a home.  Let's call it my "welcome to Fall" piece.  :-)  My favorite season!  And this dresser is in my favorite style - simple and gorgeous.

I'm drawn to pieces that are up on legs - it gives them a lot of character.  The legs on this sweet piece don't disappoint.  I also love the detailing on the top drawer fronts.

Also love the antiqued glass knobs.  They really seem to fit this piece, don't you think?

I've painted this one in Old White with a distressed finish and clear wax for protection.  I see it as a gorgeous addition to a nursery (and the perfect height for a changing table).... or as a focal point in a little girl's room.  It could also be lovely in a foyer or holding a flat screen in a family room.

All of the drawers are dovetailed and work perfectly.  This piece measures 46'' long x 36 1/2'' tall x 22'' deep and is priced at $380(SOLD).

If you're interested in purchasing this dresser, please send me an email by clicking on the "Contact Me" tab above - thanks!

Ethan Allen dresser in Old White (SOLD)

I really like this one, you guys.  :-)

I saw this piece at a local shop recently and thought it would be a real beauty in Old White... and I think I was right!

I was even more excited about this piece when I opened the top drawer and saw the "Kling" markings and the Ethan Allen paperwork.  You really can't beat the craftsmanship of an Ethan Allen piece - it's so well made, and will definitely stand the test of time.

This five drawer dresser has ample storage space, and all drawers are dovetailed.  They slide in and out with ease.

Aren't the original wooden knobs cool?  I've painted and distressed them to match.

I also love the detailing along the bottom and the shape of the feet.  Lots of character.

This is the kind of piece that would work so well in a nursery as a changing table - and with it being slightly taller than your average dresser, it would work for even you tall mamas out there.  :-)  It would also be gorgeous as an entryway piece, in any bedroom.... or even in a living room to hold a flatscreen tv.  I've painted it in Old White, with a distressed finish and clear wax for protection. This vintage piece measures 40'' long x 35 1/2'' tall x 19'' deep and is priced at $395 (SOLD).
