Green mid-century side table (SOLD)

Mid-century modern furniture..... isn't it awesome?  The sleek lines, the retro feel.... it takes you right back to 1950.  Or, at least.... what I think 1950 must have been like.  :-)  I wasn't actually there.

I so love this style of furniture.  It begs for a bold color.  This piece needed to make a statement - and with a custom mixed green, it'll hold its own in any room.

Both of the drawers in this side table are dovetailed, and quite large - storage space isn't an issue here.  I love the sleek vintage hardware too.

Aren't the legs cool?

I've painted this table in a custom mixed green with a distressed finish, and both clear and dark wax add protection and an aged look.  It measures 24'' long x 24'' tall x 16'' deep and is priced at $60 (SOLD).  I think it would add a lot of character to any living space.  :-)

Antique buffet in Cream (SOLD)

Hi folks!  You may have noticed a few changes to my blog (new header photo, etc). I'm working to make it a bit more user friendly (and prettier!) so please excuse any changes you might see in the next few weeks as I try to figure out things like custom sidebars and nav bars and html coding.  :-)  Totally not my thing.  It took me 3 hours to change the photo at the top.  Is that sad?  I think it probably is.  :-)  

Ah well.  Painting furniture is more my thing.  ;-)  And speaking of painting furniture, I've got a gorgeous antique buffet all ready to go.  Isn't it lovely? 

I hope you'll forgive me for the quality of the photos on this one.  I usually work hard to be sure the photos of my pieces are artistic and a great representation of the color, etc... but that requires moving the piece inside to my makeshift photography studio.  Otherwise known as my foyer. :-)  However - my sweet husband, partner in crime, and primary behind-the-scenes-muscle is currently out of commission with a slipped disc in his back.  Poor guy.  I'm able to get smaller pieces in by myself to photograph, but this beauty is large and oh-so-heavy.... so I had to photograph it in my garage.  Please excuse any painting mess you see in the background.  :-)  Hopefully my awesome husband will be back to helping me lift things really soon!

Until then - let's talk about this buffet.  I am always THRILLED to find a lovely antique buffet at an estate sale - and this is one I just couldn't pass up.  It's solid wood (cherry, I believe) and has an awesome solid wood back as well.  I LOVE pieces with a solid back on them.  Just screams quality to me.

This buffet has storage space galore - three dovetailed drawers across the top, a smaller lined silver drawer, and four doors across the bottom.  The two side doors open to shelf storage while the center doors have open storage behind. 

I really love the detailing along the sides and the original vintage hardware. 

I've painted this buffet in a lovely shade of deep cream and given it a distressed finish, with clear wax as a protector. It measures 60'' long x 35 1'2'' tall x 20'' deep and is priced at $500 (SOLD).

Vintage dresser in Old White (SOLD)

 Another lovely dresser in Old White!  It's been a while since I had one of these available - there's been a shortage of sorts recently when it comes to long dressers. :-)  So I was thrilled to find this one!  Such a sweet piece - lots of storage, great vintage pulls, and classic lines.

This piece has eight large dovetailed drawers that all work perfectly. So much storage space!

I've painted this one in Old White, with a distressed finish and clear wax.  I figured a classic piece like this one deserved a classic paint color.  :-)   It would be perfect in a nursery as a changing table/dresser, but would be equally lovely in a dining room as a buffet or in a foyer as an entry piece.  You could even use it in a family room as an entertainment center with storage.  Endless possibilities here. :-)  It measures 54'' long x 33'' tall x 18'' tall and is priced at $415 (SOLD).
