Ethan Allen Side Table (SOLD)

There are times when I walk into Goodwill at EXACTLY the right moment .... it doesn't happen often, but when it does, I'm thrilled. We were on our way home from delivering a piece of furniture to a client over the weekend, and I asked my husband to stop by Goodwill so I could pop in and see if they had anything promising.  As I was walking back towards the furniture section one of the employees was bringing an Ethan Allen side table out from the processing room - SCORE!  I caught him right as he put it out on the floor, and within 5 minutes it was loaded into the back of our truck. :-) Perfect timing.

I was a happy girl.

This particular side table has great lines - I love how the legs are at an angle, and I also love that it's exceptionally deep.  Both drawers are dovetailed and work perfectly, and they have the Ethan Allen stamp inside.

I think the vintage pulls on this piece are adorable.

I've painted it a custom mix of Old White and Provence, which became a beautiful shade of pale turquoise.  Clear wax and dark wax give the piece protection and a lovely aged look. I think this table would be lovely in any living space or bedroom - and would be particularly cute in a nursery. Measurements are 20'' long x 25'' deep x 23 1/2'' tall, and it's priced at $95 (SOLD).

Antique Turquoise Chest (SOLD)

Oh, how I love turquoise....  is that obvious yet? :-)  I think it's such a fabulous color in general - and especially on old furniture. It lends itself beautifully to the distressed french style, and with a little dark wax it mellows and is absolutely wonderful.  I found this antique chest at an estate sale recently, and was so thrilled to buy it - it is super old, and has a great wood plank back and handmade nails. You just don't see furniture constructed like this anymore.

All three drawers are dovetailed and work perfectly, and I love the detail work on the drawer fronts. Also love the keyholes! 

The drop pulls are antique and original to the chest.

I've painted this lovely piece in the newest Annie Sloan color - Florence - and coated it with both clear and dark wax for protection and an aged finish. I really love the way this paint transforms with the addition of dark wax. I think this piece would be a gorgeous addition to any bedroom, and it's also the perfect height to be used as a tv stand in a family room. It would make a great foyer piece as well - definitely a great way to add a splash of color and character to any room. Measurements are 41'' long x 36'' tall x 17'' deep, and it's priced at $295 (SOLD).

Antique White Dresser/Buffet (SOLD)

Finally - a piece that isn't already promised to someone! :-)  So happy to have one to post on my blog. This is one of those great pieces that could serve so many different purposes - it would be a perfect buffet due to its size, but would also be a wonderful dresser in a bedroom.  Great for a nursery as well..... there's something very sweet about antique furniture in a baby's room.

This beauty is solid maple and very sturdy, with nine drawers that all work perfectly (middle drawers are extra deep).  So much storage space in this one. Great detailing as well.

I've painted it a lovely shade of antique white (Old White by Annie Sloan), given it a distressed finish, and coated it with clear wax for protection. Measurements are 61 1'2'' long x 34 1/2'' tall x 19'' deep, and it's priced at $370 (SOLD).

Custom pieces

I'm currently busy with several custom pieces and thought it might be a good time to feature some of my custom work from the last few months.  Take a look at these before and afters!

 These pieces went on to be a lovely dresser/changing table and side table for a nursery.
